v2 FAQ’s (frequently asked questions)

As more and more customers make the move to Version 2.0 we are beginning to acquire a list of Frequently Asked Questions.  We will do our best to add to this list as the questions keep rolling in.

Will ExtraFleet run on Windows XP/Windows 2003 Server?

Yes, version 2.0 does require that the operating system is at least Win 98 Second Edition or later.  Windows 2000 or Win XP would be preferred.

Is there some built in limit on the number of vehicles/pieces of equipment that can be put into ExtraFleet?

There is no limit set in the software for equipment records or for parts in the parts inventory file.  If you have an especially large fleet or process in excess of 7500 work orders per year you should seriously consider the client server version that utilizes a MS SQL database.

Why do you offer both .exe and .zip downloads from your webpage?

Many organizations do not permit end users to download .exe files.  There are others who do not allow even allow you download .zip files.  If this is your situation we can work with you to change the file extension to something you are allowed to download and then have you change it back once it's received or we can still send you a CD via snail mail.

Can ExtraFleet accommodate multiple parts inventories?

Yes, version 2.0's new multiple site capability lets you manage multiple sites within one database including multiple shops and parts inventories.  See the system documentation for setting up and using the multiple site features available with the program.
